This is a super personal song about how people can get so wrapped up in the materialistic parts of life that it can become toxic, scary, and depressing. There's this obsession about being the prettiest, richest, or best in the room and it just leads to a feeling of inferiority. In today's day, there is no stopping the influx of information given to up starting at such a young age, but you are the only one that can bring yourself out of that mentality. You can be the antidote
amore
This was originally a completely different song. I rewrote this song a few days before the release of the album. It's the most Hannah song on the album, I'd say. It follows my love language patterns and how I tend to fall too far into love without really thinking of anything else. We tend to put ourselves through hell if we think it will be worth it. Through this song, I found a new love for myself and making myself happy. I am my own love. My mi amore es para mi. My love is for me.
breathe
I've latched onto the idea that everything is temporary and this song reflects that. Everything can be perfect but it doesn't last forever. Fortunately, it also works the opposite way as well. There are times where you feel like you've hit rock bottom, but the pain doesn't last. Everything is temporary. While this is a scary idea, it also brings a lot of peace. You just have to take it one step at a time. Just breathe.
drive
This song captures the feeling of running away from it all. Running away from the problems and ideas of every day. There's nothing stopping you when you have a full tank and thousands of miles in front of you. The chorus also mentions driving to the center of your universe which in this case was a person. You can lose yourself in the love, the excitement of both a relationship and the dashed lines of the open road.
he looks at her
There's nothing like falling in love. This is that one moment where you can tell that you belong somewhere with someone. There's that familiar feeling of safety and comfort and that's what I wanted to emulate in this song. As The Great Gatsby says, "He looked at her like all girls wanted to be looked at", with love.
early
On a particularly emotional night, I wasn't able to sleep at all. I had stayed up most of the night with puffy eyes and a broken heart. This song captures the loneliness of the night and how sometimes the love you give can be suffocating for someone else. It's a real dilemma, knowing that you are hurting the person you want the most.
self love
This was written on a sunny day in my grandparent's yard. This is more of a transformative song. It's all about how love from you is the most healing love of all. There isn't another soul out there that can change or help you other than yourself and finding those little things that help you out is the first step to being content.
sonder
Sonder is the profound feeling of realizing that everyone, including strangers passed in the street, has a life as complex as one's own, which they are constantly living despite one's personal lack of awareness of it. It's such an amazing experience to know that when you meet someone, their life is completely dynamic as your own and there's a love and connection that comes with learning about that person's life. It's pretty incredible.

too many losses
There's a point in life where you can look back at your life and realize that you've completely changed. There's so many new things that you are now able to reflect on what things you've lost along the way and that's the nostalgia of life. There's not enough time for everything, unfortunately. What is pulling you back?
